What is it about blues music that tears at the soul?

Hmmm… I’m not sure whether or not I should say I “like” Blues Music… I’m afraid normally I would really feel depressed and this sound even makes it worse. I do acknowledge the wonderful sound of this music… it just “hurts” me… somehow. Does that make sense?
I think it’s supposed to hurt. But not make you suicidal. There are times when listening to the blues is a good idea … and times when perhaps other music is a better choice.
Understood…the pain behind the music is real. To me, that is why it is so deeply moving.
