This Day in History: November 22, 1963
“The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it.
And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender,
or submission.” ~John F. Kennedy
Sharla Shults‘s insight:
“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” ―John F. Kennedy

Imagine the condition of our country had he been able to stay.
I think that was the beginning of the end of cooperation between parties in Congress. It’s just degenerated so far. Such a shame. It solves nothing, does good for no one other than the pol. Someday, maybe we’ll remember it’s supposed to be working for the good of the COUNTRY. Someday.
I was a freshman at Cathedral Catholic High School when He was shot. There was an announcement that classes were cancelled for the day and that we were to return home on our busses. Back then very few kids got driven back & forth to school.
My mom was waiting in tears as my brother & I arrived home early. She told us what had happened. He had not been pronounced dead at that point. We watched every minute of the drama that played itself out that day.
My mother, being a German Catholic, was crushed by the news that her beloved president had been assassinated. Some days, like that one, will always be remembered as an historic day in history.
