One cannot leave the music scene without reference to adult contemporary music and contemporary classical music. Adult contemporary music prior to 1979 was sometimes referred to a Easy Listening or Middle of the Road Music. Classical music as most people are familiar is everything from Bach to Copland.

  1. FYI, to music students, classical in means Beethoven, Mozart and their contemporaries. Before that, Bach et al was baroque. After classical is impressionist and romantic followed by Copeland and co. — aka modern. Some composers wrote in styles of earlier periods … and there were always guys who led the way and were ahead of their time.
