No power or water, fuel shortages and limited transportation has made life pretty darn difficult for the East Coast. But it’s usually in times of need that the best of mankind emerges.

So true! Sometimes, the worst, but more often the best!
Whenever there is destruction, people help each other. New York City is a mega metropolis, a place where tourist flock, artists venture, college grads initiate careers, some people retire, and others find weekend entertainment. During those hours, they do not speak to each other. They push and shove, brushing past each other, including penthouse neighbors. I live 60 miles north and flock to the city for shopping, museums, and Broadway. So this destruction tells me, no city is too large, or opulent to be destroyed. Wealth and status are like blades of grass. Life is about relationships, encouraging and helping others. Thank Sharla.
It scares me to read this – to hear about it and to have family suffering!
Hi,
This is so true. We find out what we believe when we go through the difficult times of our lives. Life then become practical. It is no longer theory.
Ciao,
Patricia
The sad part is that we had to help each other as the promises by the government were made but never kept until too late. It is the deaths that hurt the most–two little boys aged 2 and 4, swept from their mother’s arms after she sought help from a man who shut the door in her face. Teenagers found floating dead in the water, a 92 year old woman drowned in her bed. My son-in-law , Scott was out there risking his life with one damaged shoulder pulling a dozen people from the water and combing the marshes for the bodies of those that didn’t make it. How he can live with the horrors he sees is beyond me, but thank God for men and women like him who are willing to go through all kinds of danger to save others. Now as another storm comes our way, please pray that we are not hit again. People here are freezing from the cold and still homeless.
