QUESTION OF THE DAY

Below are a series of thought-proving questions. Read each question as though it were the title of a speech, article, or book.

THINK about how that question makes you FEEL. What action does it compel you to DO? For example, move on without giving it another thought vs. stop to listen or read about it.

Once you are “hooked” on the question that grabs you the most put the number of that question in the comments box. That’s it.

QUESTIONS:

1. What if you lived in a land of no “trees”?
2. When was the last time you felt the earth?
3. Do voices of nature call you home?
4. Does nature breathe?
5. Where is the diamond in the rough with the power to heal?

PS If none of these grab you, give me your thoughts around a similar theme:-)

The Essence of Poetry

Do you consider yourself a lover of poetry or have you always shrugged at the thought of having to read poetry? Unfortunately, poetry carries with it the possibility of misunderstanding or totally not understanding at all the intent of the poet. It is deep within a matter of perception.

Poetry written with vision presents pictures/scenes with words. As you read The Essence of Poetry, create not only a vision in your mind but a feeling in your heart. Listen to the rhythm of the words in the same manner as you would a song.

Poetry is rhythmic
A melody like song
Striking the heartstrings
As life moves along

Tones are soothing
Loving sometimes
Words are healing
Calming the mind

Verses of visions
Paint a picture
Share a moment
Incite a venture

Lyrics that sing
Summon caressing
Pulse with rhythm
Become a blessing

With nature’s embrace
Spirits unfold
Laughter amid tears
Capture the soul

Poetry is art. The canvas is the mind. Thoughts are the paintbrush.

The Last Flight

On one of my morning walks, I glanced upon the sidewalk and noticed a clump of bird feathers. The vision captured in my mind produced. . . The Last Flight. With today being the anniversary of 9/11/2001, timing seemed appropriate for sharing.

Think about your plans for the day. Is Mother Nature part of the mental picture? If you are in a area of sunshine, take a brisk walk. Observe. Listen. Breathe. No sunshine? No worries. Stand in your doorway or look out a window. Marvel at what you see for behind every cloud or within each raindrop is a degree of sunshine.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is too short to let a day go by without a smile and saying, “I love you!”. . . out loud! To yourself!! Love yourself so that love will be spread to others!

Peace at the End of the Day

After a hard day’s work, whether stressed out from an office position, working at a construction site or laboring in the back yard, there is no better method of relaxation than a massage. It can be as simple as a hand or foot massage to as elaborate as a full body massage. The result is the same…peace at the end of the day!

The story goes that a stray cat on a beach in Thailand befriended a group of teachers who were taking advantage of a little rest and relaxation. The cat climbed into the lap of one of the teachers and got the massage of a lifetime. After watching the video you’ll swear this is not this cat’s first massage!

Okay, all you kittie moms and dads, where is the training video for Cat Massage 101? If a dog can be taught to fetch, why not teach a cat massage therapy! After all, it is in their nature to knead, knead, knead. Once naptime is over, it is time to stre-e-e-tch and limber up those limbs and paws. “Foxie! Come to Mama.”

Of course, if no one is available to give the massage, there are a plethora of tools or massage equipment that can be put to good use. Take for example the Shiatsu kneading fingers portable massager that kitty seems to be enjoying immensely! Okay, time’s up feline friend…Mama’s turn!

Cat’s Ten Commandments

QUICK POST: A stopover at Facebook resulted in running across the Cat’s Ten Commandments. Would be interesting to see what some of our cat lovers might add to the list.

Cats_10_Commandments

purr-r-r-r-r-r-r…

I know you love me
That comes as no surprise
I feel it in your touch
I see it in your eyes

I know you love me
You treat me with special care
Letting me cuddle in your lap
While you brush my fur-ry hair

I know you love me
With every super treat
T
he gentle paw massage
Tickles my little feet

I know you love me
Meals are o-oh-so-o good
My bowl is never empty
Always the best kitty food

I know you love me
You pat me on my head
Talk to be softly
Let me sleep in your bed

You know I love you
That’s a given too
I rub against your legs
Purr-r-r-ing that I do
