On one of my morning walks, I glanced upon the sidewalk and noticed a clump of bird feathers. The vision captured in my mind produced. . .The Last Flight. With today being the anniversary of 9/11/2001, timing seemed appropriate for sharing.
Think about your plans for the day. Is Mother Nature part of the mental picture? If you are in a area of sunshine, take a brisk walk. Observe. Listen. Breathe. No sunshine? No worries. Stand in your doorway or look out a window. Marvel at what you see for behind every cloud or within each raindrop is a degree of sunshine.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is too short to let a day go by without a smile and saying, “I love you!”. . . out loud! To yourself!! Love yourself so that love will be spread to others!
Teeny tiny little kisses between family, loved ones, too, have been tradition since exposed in film in 1922. These express fondness in lieu of passionate emotional kisses. Children especially enjoy Eskimo kisses since a tickling sensation nose-to-nose warms the heart inciting smiles, giggles, happiness. Such kisses are not limited to human factors alone. What about the velvety touch nose-to-nose with a kitten or the wet, sloppy kiss nose-to-nose with a puppy? By chance you may find some odd couples in nature… a horse rubbing noses with a goat, a baby fox with a doe, a dog nuzzling a rabbit.
Eskimo Kisses
Gentle little kisses A brush of the nose Soft, tender caresses Everybody knows
Language without words Bids hello or adieu Sweet, childlike kisses Emanate “I love you”
Sensuous simplicity Merely a breath apart Wisps like butterfly wings Tickling right to the heart
From eye to eye To nose to nose Joyful feelings Smiles do expose
Both giver, receiver Sigh with a grin Nuzzles on a cold day Glow from within
Sweet, tender kisses Forever lifelong Whisper sweet nothings As part of life’s song
From the tiniest baby To your most beloved pet Little Eskimo kisses You don’t easily forget
What is your favorite summer relaxation? What about observing a sunset within the sea, shells and smells at the beach? Living in the fast-paced world of e-this & e-that makes it easy for life to become so stressful that the need to get away is at the top of the list. Ready to relax? Kick back, breathe deeply the salty air, take a few moments for a quiet walk…simply get away welcoming peace at the end of the day.
Today, walking the beach, I was reminded of the bounty of the earth in the form of wild blackberries – a free feast, with no one else bothering to partake.
Cats! What adorable creatures! Whether kittens or full grown, our feline friends bring joy and happiness with their cuddliness and antics. Being easily spoiled, each is susceptible to ‘owning’ a plethora of toys. As cat lovers, we all have meow, meow, meow stories/moments to share. We dote upon THE cat with what the cat deserves…THE best, THE craziest, THE funniest…the search is on for the most unique toy! One of the best cat toys on the planet doesn’t cost anything extra, doesn’t warrant a drive to the store, doesn’t require a lot of thought, doesn’t need batteries, doesn’t require any tools to put together and best of all is probably right now, today, this minute, somewhere in your house waiting to be had!

Cats love boxes
Small, medium, large
Size doesn’t matter
The cat is in charge
Inside, outside
Tipsy turvy
With holes, without
Straight or curvy
Big cat, small box
Large box, small cat
Same size, any size
Slap spat, that’s that
Skinny cat, fat cat
GOOD TIMES roll
In pure attack mode
Goin’ for the goal
Pouncin, stalkin’
Havin’ a ball
Climbin’, slappin’
None too short or tall
Hard work, at play
Time for a rest
Smaller the box
Cozier the nest
Always one
Fits just right
Safe and secure
Nite! Nite!

Br’er Groundhog gave us six more weeks of winter so Winter Break isn’t over altogether but with February being a short month, Spring is already in sight! Just the thought of Spring is enough to bring sunshine on a cold wintry day, at least inside if not out…that is, within the heart and mind! So, bring the sunshine that is on the inside outside with some really big smiles and focus on the days ahead. If you are as impatient as I am, you cannot wait for those first buds to appear or specks of green to peek out from beneath the cold, cold ground. Each region of the nation will begin experiencing its own unique signs of Spring dear to the heart with both plants and animals sending forth harbingers that signal the annual demise of Ol’ Man Winter!

I had this post ready yesterday but decided to save it for this morning. What a surprise when I received a message from Sunni @Surviving Life My Cats. She wrote an article in response to my FWF post. You need to stop by her blog for there is true inspiration to be gathered from her posting. The season is indeed wrapped in the spirit of giving!
