Anything country western, especially Johnny Cash. Those songs are always aboutthe loss of something, a horse, a dog ,a woman. I can get depressed listening even when I love them.
One of the most beautiful song I’ve heard, years and years ago – and which I never forgot was Otis Redding’s “Sitting on a dock of a bay”…. For some undefined reason it stayed one of my favorite songs until this day.
