Sharla Shults‘s insight:

Each of us relishes memories of our favorite Santa moment. One most cherished is perhaps the preparation and presentation of the ever popular plate of cookies and glass of milk. Read MORE @ Awakenings where Peggy Stack, author of A Stop in the Park, is the featured author of the day.

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Within the month of December, catnipoflife has been honored with three nominations for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Marilyn @Serendipity (who also bestowed this award upon catnip’s sister site Awakenings), Ute @Ute smile and Gys @French & English Poems by Gys. That leaves me breathless and thereby virtually speechless.

Almost. . .

It has been less than a year since catnip entered the blogosphere. She has been elated and overwhelmed by the acquaintances and friendships gathered along the way. Every journey in life takes one down many paths…some in the right direction and others take unexpected turns that keep perspectives in order and provide avenues to explore in different facets of life. Within each directional turn comes encounters that leave a lasting impression – most often positive but occasionally questionable. C’est la vie!

catnip is very pleased to accept this award with the utmost gratitude and thereby pays it forward to a few who continuously inspire her. Understand each blogsite/weblog/cyber diary shines with its own light of inspiration…some endearing, some picturesque and others humorous, while many encompass all three!

But before the list comes…

1. I enjoy helping my husand in his wood-working shop any time I am allowed:>)

2. My favorite movies are ghost stories (without all the fake blood and gore).

3. Caligraphy is my specialty.

4. Boston is a city I want to visit on the way to getting Maine lobster. (Yummy! Don’t have to fret about NY cheesecake…hubby bakes the best ever!)

5. Can’t wait until the next fall festival to ride the carousel.

6. If I had my way and the means, I would have a Jaguar. (Nothing wrong in having dreams!)

7. In my next life, I will return as a cat. (Aren’t you surprised?!.)

Free Write Friday #13: Image Prompt

FreeWriteFridayBadge

Here we are again on yet another Friday and Kellie Elmore has challenged us to a free write with an image prompt. If this is your first encounter with Free Write Friday, feel free to read the intro on Kellie’s website.

In short, here is what is expected. . .

Do not think. Do not edit. Do not pay attention to spelling, punctuation or form. Just allow the moment, your feelings, your imagination to run free and…

Do not stop until you find yourself forcing your words or trying too hard to complete a thought.

BirdinRain

Pounding Rain

*****************

With head bowed
I feel the rain
Pounding, pounding
But I feel no pain

In spite of cold
I will survive
It’s my life
I decide

To live, to die
To watch, to wait
To live, to live
It’s not too late

Only refreshing
Cleansing desires
Snuffing out
Emotional fires

Soon it will end
But I shall remain
Lifting my head high
With joy, without pain

The End of the World as We Know it?

See on Scoop.itAmerica & Beyond

Reblogged from MikesFilmTalk: So according to certain “scholars” the world is going to end tomorrow. Or, I guess more accurately, in about 6 ½ hours (give or take a few micro-seconds). …

Sharla Shults‘s insight:

It is 11:20 PM EST where I presently reside. Somewhere in the world it is already the 21st of December and the WORLD has not ended. I am still here so I suppose they are too. Good morning to everyone reading this after midnight! Hope you have a wonderful day and perhaps this will be a new beginning with hopes of better times for tomorrow’s tomorrows.

What is Christmas without gingerbread?

Do you have a special gingerbread house that you display at Christmas time?

If so, how long does yours remain before the first bite?

Being a penultimate nerd myself, I would love any of these.  I also love gingerbread, so eating them would be nice too.

HUGS: The Universal Language

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

A hug has no boundaries. . . no limitations, no ties to race, religion, creed, politics or anything for that matter.

Hugs are universal!

They offer comfort in the hour of need, hope in times of despair, emotion in the midst of love, warmth in the arms of forgiveness, peace in the soul of tragedy.

Have you given and/or received your hug today? Why wait?

There is no greater moment than the present. . .
