Hello, world! Here we are Day 2 in 2013, full of vim and vigor with a bounce in our steps, rip-roaring and ready to go! Yep, New Year’s Eve has passed hopefully with at least a wee bit of sleep, New Year’s Day is over with bellies full of black-eye peas cooked with hog jowl and collard greens simmered in broth seasoned with country ham! And, don’t forget the cornbread…fried crisp and thin resembling doilies made of the finest lace. Of course, that is the Southern way and I can’t help it it you are NOT from the south. That means you just missed out, Bubba! [OK, lots of laughter here, my Northern and Western friends!]
Since catnip is all about feeling go-o-o-o-od let’s start this year off with a touch of catnip for the funny bone. Let’s tickle that fancy, wiggle to the beat and simply roll over laughing.
Afterward we can get serious but right now let’s just enjoy…
Ready? Get set. Go!
What do you say in making this year the best ever… the most enjoyable, the most loving, the most productive, the most memorable
You pick the category, pick them all, you decide…
It is YOUR life, YOUR year! Make it what YOU want it to be!
NOTE: Don’t leave without watching the video below! In the meantime, let’s start with a slideshow!

As we soon will say goodbye to 2012, it is very important for me to thank all of catnip’s visitors and followers for some good old times throughout the year! You made (and continue to make) my day with your visits and especially when you left comments. By entering my world, you let a part of me inspire a part of you which in turn inspires others. Writing is a gift but only worthwhile if it tugs at the heart of its readers. One can write, write, write but if that written word is not read, nor acted upon, then its message is lost and becomes mere dust on a shelf, ashes in the wind.
Catnip is definitely graced with many wonderful followers. My goal in the new year is to visit each of you with the same gratitude you have shared with me. I’ve got a lot of visiting to do so I had better get started! I will not give up until each one has been visited, Liked and catnip added as your latest follower!
catnipoflife has been honored by Len @myownheart.me with being one of her Most Influential Blogs of 2012. Thank you, Len, but it is YOU who truly inspires me!
The Most Influential Blogs of 2012 Received from Len @myownheart.me
I never know on any given day who might be the most influential. Today it is Arlen Shahverdyan from whom I would like to share a video he featured on his site today. In addition, catnipoflife would like to recognize Arlen as one of her Most Influential Blogs of 2012. Arlen is Armenian, fond of writing and is an eloquent speaker. He has already published 3 books (from 2008 to 2012).
Read more about Arlen, his writing, his poetry, his blog, his goals HERE! While visiting be sure to leave him a comment to let him know you stopped by and of course, he would love for you to become a Follower.
As with any award, the next step is to examine the rules.
The Rules…SURPRISE! There are NO RULES except you MUST pay it forward, and that means, sometime in the next six (6) months you “should” choose the blogs you deem worthy of your label of The Most Influential Blogs of 2012. Those that have influenced you the most!
That’s it, no exception, no ands, ors, ifs or buts! There is ONE added notation:
EVERY blog I follow inspires me in some way so this award is quite difficult in choosing those that have had the most impact on my life this year. So, understand Arlen is just the beginning. He is the first to be followed with recognition of others within the six (6) month time frame. That means stay tuned, visit often for your name may be the next Most Influential Blog of 2012!
All aboard! If you missed the ride in the beginning, Take the Train Along with Me now! Click on the caboose and enjoy the scenery! It may take a minute to load but well worth the wait!

Winter’s awakenings have come with the first signs of snow knocking at the door in many parts of the country. The coldest part of the year brings with it short days and long nights, hazardous driving, shoveling driveways/walkways, bundling up from head-to-toe, chills and fever, cozy fireplaces, and so much more BUT not without intermingling wonder, amazement and excitement.
BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO – Dog Having a Blast in the Snow !
Catnip is excited to offer all her followers and visitors many Cat Thanksgiving Blessings. So, without further ado and with special Happy Thanksgiving blessings from Foxie and Boots.
Emotions run deep in the minds, hearts and souls throughout America as we approach Veterans Day. Let’s begin this weekend reflecting on the events that led to the establishment of this day’s celebration.
It never ceases to amaze me how some things come full circle when least expected. I received the video link, Porcelain Unicorn, in an email message last April and filed it away in a personal folder because it is so compelling. Intentions were to revisit it during some quiet down time. This morning that revisitation occurred while trying desperately to find daylight at the end of the mega messages in my email Inbox.
Here is the background. . .
Legendary British film director Sir Ridley Scott launched a global film making contest for aspiring directors. It’s titled “Tell It Your Way.” There were over 600 entries.
The film could
be no longer than three minutes,
contain only six lines of narrative and
be a compelling story.
The winner was “Porcelain Unicorn” from American director Keegan Wilcox.
It’s a story of the lifetimes of two people (1930 – 1945) who are totally opposite, yet, very much the same – all told in less than 3 minutes.

“It was a time to become conscious, to give form and coherence to the mystery, and I had been a part of that. It was a gift. Life was raging all around me and every moment was magical. I loved all the people, dealing with all the contradictory impulses – that’s what I loved the most, connecting with the people. Looking back, that’s all that really mattered.”Waking Life
I had not planned on posting any catnip today but in cleaning out some clutter on my computer desktop, I happened across a document where I had saved some links for future reference. I have probably opened this document hundreds of times but just had not reflected back on the words or why they had been saved.
Warm wishes and hugs to everyone on this blessed Sunday! Take five, kick back, put your feet up, watch the video and become enraptured in the beautiful music. . .
Do you recognize the artist of the music?
What are your reflections on the butterfly? Any special moments?
Had not planned a post for catnip today but sometimes inspiration comes when least expected. Upon visiting Serendipity today, I found catnip in the morning where you can observe life at its best, listen to life’s songs, embrace life’s bounties, breathe the breath of life and savor life to its fullest!
