“Each state of the union is unique by design, state song, bird, flower, food, beverage, etc. Most people are somewhat familiar with their own home state but rarely venture into knowing much about neighboring or other states across the nation. Trivia that are considered nothing more than just that – trivial facts – carry very little weight when it comes to learning for most are not taught in school or reflected in textbooks.”
There may be some room for argument here. So, think about your home state and its most famous brand. Do you agree/disagree with its label above? Of course, the real test here is knowing which is your home state. Now, that knowledge definitely needs to remain as a topic to be taught in our schools! Can you name them all?

sad to say I recognize all but two brands and missed four states…I need re-schooling! LOL
oh and less television.:)
You probably got more right than the average person! LOL 🙂
You can also include Intel Corporation, the largest employer in Oregon. I worked there 4.5 years before retiring. They are a really great employer.
Didn’t know that (Intel) about Oregon. Thanks for sharing! Good to know there are still some really great employers! 🙂
The company gave us 18 months notice about the plant closing then looked for 900 jobs for those affected. That includes jobs outside of Intel. They gave us a $13000 closing bonus and instantly declared us vested in the pension plan regardless of time served. I wasn’t because of the recession but cutting overhead.
How clever! I think it’s hysterical that Florida’s brand is “Hooters”. Probably what keep the old geezers alive lol.
I thought the same thing when I saw Hooters for Florida! There are definitely a lot of ‘hooters’ along the beaches! LOL 🙂
HI Sharla, I have been putting you on Listopia in Goodreads all afternoon. Our secret until we grow.
Mamie
Um-m-m-m? Can’t wait to hear about that! 🙂
Just kid din. I have been adding everyones book I see. It will be a nice surprise for them all when they learn about it. Just wanted to do something nice since it was done for me.
Mamie
🙂
I think it’s donuts. Dunkin, mostly, but we have more donut shops than anywhere else, even way out in the country. Sugar is BIG. Miss you!

Sharla, that’s a wonderful map! I guess PA is famous for Hershey’s but also Heinz ketchup, pickles, etc.
Most of the states are known for more than one…some of those listed were truly surprising. At least, to me anyway!
Okay… I recognized quite a few states – and brands too… thank God for my teachers… but what scares me is SEEING ( not only knowing) about apple in California…
And here, this California girl is, working with Blackberry and feeling like a traitor… *sigh*
