On this day in 1980, Beatles star John Lennon was brutally shot to death by an obsessed fan outside the Dakota Building in New York City. The world mourned the tragic death of a man who imagined only peace.

Although I am not a fan of the Beatles or Lennon (and definitely not the out of key McCartney) I can’t help but think that the world of music lost a brilliant and unique talent when he was taken

I remember. I was in Jerusalem. We were at the movies and our friend Uri told us during intermission. I first throught he was joking …. then realized he wasn’t. Why would anyone assassinate a man who made music? It didn’t make sense then and it doesn’t make sense now.
I remember that sad day. It seems so long ago. I really loved the beatle’s music–still do. Their movies weren’t so hot.
I’m a big fan of the Beatles and John. Wonderful musician with great talent.
